Hi! My name is Jonathan Edmondson (he/him/his) and I am a director, playwright, and producer from Lumberton, New Jersey.

Growing up, I was obsessed with storytelling. As a kid I would spend hours playing with action figures, crafting elaborate adventures that spanned centuries and continents. I like to think of this as the first steps in my directing career.

After performing in musicals and plays throughout high school, I enrolled in The College of New Jersey, where I would eventually graduate top of my class with a degree in Journalism and Professional Writing. While there, though, my love of theatre blossomed, and I directed my first musical (Rent). This sparked a passion for perusing theatre that led me to the Arden Theatre Company in Philadelphia, where I completed the Arden Professional Apprentice Program.

A decade later, I have directed over 15 full-length productions spanning from classic plays to modern musicals. My work has been featured on stages throughout the tri-state area, including at The University of Pennsylvania and Kelsey Theatre @ Mercer County College.

I have also written numerous plays that detail the modern queer experience. My playwriting inspired me to create The Strides Collective, a nonprofit queer theatre company that produces new works of queer theatre in Philadelphia.

When I’m not making theatre, I am hanging out with my incredible family and friends, listening to Taylor Swift, and watching Big Brother.
